One Verdict Per Listing
Buy it, negotiate, or keep scrolling
PriceGhost checks the listing against what the same item actually sells for, then tells you which of four things you’re looking at.
Buy it.
Priced under what the same item sells for everywhere else. Move before someone else does.
Negotiate.
Priced at market. You know the real number, so you know what to counter with and why.
Keep scrolling.
You can buy the same thing for less. We show you where, and for how much less.
Investigate before sending money.
Priced far below every comparison we can find — the pattern most Marketplace scams share.

Why I’m Building PriceGhost
Buying used shouldn’t be a gamble.

Felipe Araujo
Creator of PriceGhost
I needed a used car for a new job. Browsing Facebook Marketplace I couldn’t tell a fair price from a bad one, or a real seller from a risky one. So I decided to build PriceGhost.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is PriceGhost?
A Chrome extension that tells you whether a Facebook Marketplace listing is actually a good deal. It identifies the product from the listing, finds what that same item sells for at major online retailers, and gives you one verdict: good deal, fair price, bad deal, or likely scam.
How do you decide what counts as a good deal?
By comparison, not guesswork. PriceGhost identifies the exact product and pulls current prices for it from major retailers. A listing well under those prices is a good deal, one in line with them is a fair price, and one above them is a bad deal. A listing priced far below every comparison we can find is flagged as a likely scam — that pattern is worth a second look before you send anyone money.
Do I have to pay to try it?
No. Every new account starts with 5 free credits — enough for 5 product lookups — and no card is required to sign up.
How do credits work?
One credit is one verdict. When you open a Facebook Marketplace listing, PriceGhost spends a credit to identify the product, fetch comparison prices, and tell you where the listing lands. Pay-as-you-go packs are 50 credits for $4.99, 150 for $12.99 and 500 for $22.99, and those credits never expire.
Do credits expire?
Never. A pack you buy today is still spendable a year from now, so there is no pressure to use it up or to keep a plan running just to hold on to your balance.
Do I need a subscription?
There isn't one. PriceGhost is pay-as-you-go only — buy a pack of credits whenever you need it and spend it at your own pace. Nothing recurring, nothing to cancel.
Which retailers do you compare against?
We compare against Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Best Buy, Target, and other major online retailers depending on the product category.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
There is no subscription to cancel. Unused credits are non-refundable, but they never expire, so nothing is lost by taking a break. If you experience a technical issue that consumed credits incorrectly, contact our support team and we'll make it right.
